- “On average, a teacher asks one question every minute. This equals a quarter of a million questions in ten years. A student, on the other hand, asks an average of one question per month” (Glasson, 2005, para. 11).
- The average teacher asks over 40,000 questions a year yet less than 5% of teachers feel confident in their questioning training (Hannel, 2005, p. 65).
- Teachers ask as many as 120 questions per hour (Volger, 2005, para. 2).
